Ernestine Kann was born on February 2, 1889 as Ernestine From in Freren and lived in Duisburg and Essen. On April 20, 1939 she fled to the Netherlands and was then imprisoned in the Westerbork collection camp from April 20, 1943. From there she was deported to the Sobibor extermination camp on May 18, 1943 and murdered on May 21, 1943.

Salomon From was born in Freren on October 17, 1883. He was the head of the Jewish community from 1914 to 1939. In February 1940 he fled with his family to Emmen the Netherlands and was arrested on October 3, 1942. From the collection camp Westerbork he was deported to the death camp Auschwitz on October 5, 1942 and murdered on October 8, 1942.

Else From, née Hertz, b. 1891 fled 1939 Holland, interned Westerbork, deported, 1942 murdered in Auschwitz. Else From was born Else Hertz on September 1, 1891 in Borghorst and lived in Freren. She was married to Salomon From. In February 1940 she fled to the Netherlands and was imprisoned in the Westerbork collection camp from October 3, 1942. From there she was deported to the Auschwitz death camp on October 5, 1942 and was murdered on arrival on October 8, 1942.

Margot From was born on October 12, 1922, the daughter of Salomon and Else From in Rheine and lived in Freren.
