- Dr. Julius Goldberg was born in 1881. He worked as a lawyer in Landau. In March 1919, Dr. Julius Goldberg was appointed to the " Pfälzische Wirtschaftsausschuss " a 9 köpfigen body based in Landau, assembled by General Gérard, commander of the 8th French Army, to advise him on all matters of öffentlich life in the Palatinate during the occupation. Its members were nine personalities from politics and business. Dr. Julius Goldberg and Hermann Hofmann (member of the state parliament) were the advisors for the work area " trade ". Dr. Julius Goldberg, Friedrich Profit (district secretary of the SPD in the Palatinate) and Dr. Albert Zapf (chairman of the economic committee) were responsible for the area of public works and transport. In 1933, with the seizure of power by the National Socialists, Dr. Julius Goldberg was banned from the Berus. In 1938 he emigrated to the USA with his wife Elsa, née Klein, born in 1887, and his daughter Ruth Ellen, born in 1914. But already on November 26, 1942 Dr. Julius Goldberg died in New York after a short serious illness. In Landau in the Marienring 13 at the district court a stumbling stone remembers Dr. Julius Goldberg.
