Household and textile store - Max Bach

Max Bach was born on May 2, 1852 inMöhringen. His parents were Veit Bach, born April 9, 1802 in Horb and Amalie Eising, born  1822 in Wallerstein. Max Bach was married twice. In first marriage with Helene Neuburger,born on 6 March 1856 in Laupheim. The marriage was on November 19, 1877 and the first child was born in October 1878. The date of birth and death was October 29, 1878. Fritz Bach was born on November 5, 1879. Helene Bach died on August 26, 1885 at the age of 29 1/2 in Laupheim. On August 12, 1886, Max Bach married a second time – Mathilde Friedberger, born February 28, 1856 in Laupheim. The couple had two children – Hugo, born in Laupheim in 1888 and Ernst, born in Laupheim on December 26, 1894. After Max Bach died on April 6, 1916, Mathilde Bach and Hugo Bach continued the business together. Hugo Bach, who like his two brothers Fritz and Ernst served as a soldier in World War I, married Selma Stiefel from Menzingen near Bruchsal on December 30, 1918. In 1921 son Max was born. In 1922 son Heinz followed. In 1926 Mathilde Bach withdrew from the business. Already at the end of March 1933, the Hugo Bach family decided to emigrate. The parents drove with the two children via Saarbrück to France. Hugo Bach again recognized the signs of the times and emigrated in the fall of 1938 with his family from France to the USA.
