The address book of the city of Munich 1922 contains the following entry: Kahn Sigmund, Großhändler, ( company Kahn & Müller ), Rumfordstr. 21/2. Sigmund Kahn was born on January 24, 1855 in Altenstadt. His parents were the Altenstadt horse dealer Moritz Kahn and Lisette Kahn, née Bissinger. Sigmund Kahn was married to Sarah Kahn, née Müller, born on June 19, 1861 in Binswangen,Kreis Sonthofen. She was the daughter of Max Müller, merchant in Binswangen and Lena Müller, née Gerngroß. The couple had four children, all born in Munich - Mathilde (16.6.1882), - Hermine (28.4.1883),- Helene (16.5.1886) and Friedrich Moritz (5.5.1889). Three of the children managed to emigrate. Hermine Kahn (Bacher), married to Saly Bacher, who was born in Augsburg, was deported from Munich to Kaunas on November 20, 1941, and murdered there on November 25, 1941. Saly Bacher died already on March 19, 1913 in München. Sigmund Kahn ran the grocery store for colonial goods, country products, dairies, lentils and spices that he founded in 1878 in Klenzestraße and a grocery and delicatessen in Rumfordstraße. When Sigmund Kahn died on October 8, 1937, his wife Sarah Kahn continued the business. Political circumstances forced Sarah Kahn to close the business on October 1, 1938. Sarah Kahn died on January 30, 1942 in the Israeltisches Krankenheim in Munich. In the address book of the city of Munich 1922, I find the following entry: Kahn Sigmund, Großhändler, ( company Kahn & Müller ), Rumfordstr. 21/2.
