In 1922 son Heinz was born. The Hallenstein family emigrated to Brussels as early as 1933/1934 and on to New York in July 1934. Anna Thalheimer's mother, who moved to Duisburg with them at that time, emigrated to the Netherlands in 1933, but was deported from there from her exile in 1943 and murdered.
