Leopold Levi was born on February 23, 1847 in Altona in Altona. He was married to Rahel Levi,née Cohn, born in Altona on 17 March 1847. There was one son - Moses Levy(i), born on March 2, 1873 in Altona. Leopold Levy was a Bäckermeister and had a Bäckerei in Grosse Prinzenstra;e 49/50. From 1907 the Bäcker Moritz Treuhold ran the Bäckerei and confectionery in Altona's Old Town. Leopold Levy died in Altona in 1915. His wife Rahel died already on December 22, 1913 in Hamburg. Moses Levy(i) was a German lawyer and became known through a criminal case in which he took over the defense of the ruler's son Mpondo Akwa from Cameroon and successfully brought it to a conclusion. He was a member of the board of the Hochdeutscher Israeliten-Gemeinde. Moses Levy died of cancer in 1938 and is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Bahrenfeld. His wife Bertha, née Lindenberger was deported to Auschwitz on July 11, 1942 and murdered there.
