Chemische Fabrik Dr. Theodor Schuchardt Görlitz, proprietor Dr. Albert Weil

The company, founded by Theordor Schuchardt in 1865, quickly grew from a few employees in a small building in Muskau to a production area in Görlitz of over 8,000 square meters by 1876. After the death of the company founder in 1892,  the business was taken over by his son-in-law Dr. Albert Weil, Kommerzienrat, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Honorary Senator of the TH Breslau üb.
1915-1933 Weil was President of the Görlitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Rotary member, joined in 1930, resigned (presumably under denm pressure of the Nazi regime) in May 1933.  By the Nazis he is forced out of office. After the war, which he üsurvived, he becomes head of the Görlitz Chamber of Commerce in 1945.

The company moved from Görlitz to Munich in 1944. On the premises at the eh. Prager Strasse in the Görlitzer Oststadt nothing remains except for a few walls. Source: Network Industrial Culture Görlitz
