The villa at the end of Goethestraße was considered at the time of its construction as the most beautiful Görlitzer Art Nouveau villa, built in 1909 for the ironworker Martin Ephraim. The villa was completed according to the plans of the architect Professor Hugo Behr. During his lifetime, Martin Ephraim was one of the city's greatest men, a city councilor and a member of the Lower Silesian Chamber of Commerce in Gürlitz/Breslau. His life ended in 1944 in Theresienstadt.
