Gustav Buxbaum was born in Bamberg on November 23, 1839. The parents were Joachim Buxbaum and Rosalie Buxbaum, née Uffenheimer. Gustav Buxbaum was married to Jette ( Henriette ) Buxbaum, née Guetermann. The couple had 2 sons, - Julius, born on April 11, 1877 and Hans, born on December 10, 1894. Gustav Buxbaum ran a hop wholesale business with a kiln and lived at Hainstrasse 20 in Bamberg. Gustav Buxbaum died on July 12, 1914, and was succeeded by his wife Jette on March 7, 1919. Advertisements from the 1920s show that Gustav's hop wholesale business was still in existence at that time and had a branch in Saaz. During the time of National Socialism, the son Julius Buxbaum founded a new company with two loyal employees (the name of the company is not known). Julius Buxbaum died on September 2, 1936 in Bamberg, his wife Henriette, born Uhlfelder died on April 2, 1940 in Brüssel.
