Lesser Isaak Zielenziger, together with his wife Marie, founded a flourishing wholesale grain business in Potsdam in 1848 at the age of 28, which enabled him to live on it even in his retirement. He was very active in the Jewish community in Potsdam. In 1851 he was a member of the board of the Jewish community and in 1855 he was one of the founding members of the Chewra Kaddischa. His son Julius later continued the business. The second son Adolf went to Berlin as a merchant.Julius Zielenziger was very successful and his good name eventually led to his appointment as an expert for grain and feed. In the Chamber of Commerce he was appointed treasurer and the Potsdam Merchants' Association made him an honorary member. Like his father, Julius Zielenziger was very active in the Jewish community of Potsdam.For more than 40 years, he served on the board of the Jewish Synagogue Community of Potsdam. He was also president of the Prussian State Association of Jewish Communities. Even at the age of 78, he once again tried to use his influence and experience for the benefit of Potsdam's Jews as chairman of the Jewish community. Julius Zielenziger died unexpectedly at the beginning of 1938. His wife Anna, chairwoman of the Jewish Women's Association Potsdam and member of the girls' home Potsdam e.V. emigrated to the Netherlands to son Kurt. At the end of 1943, Anna Zielenziger, together with her son Kurt and his wife Lilly, was caught by the police in Amsterdam and murdered in Westerbork in November 1943.
