Who was Hannah Arendt?

Hannah Arendt, full name Johannah Arendt, was a Jewish German-American philosopher and publicist. She was born in Linden (modern-day Hanover) on October 14, 1906, and died in New York City on December 4, 1975. In 1933, she openly called for a fight against the National Socialists .

Residence of Hannah Arendt 1929/30      

Hannah Arendt lived together with Günther Stern in 1929/30 in part of this house. In 2016, the party "Die Linke" first made a request for a commemorative plaque to the city. However, by August 15, 2019, the commemorative plaque, with an approximate value of 600-900€, depending on the material, was not yet completed due to complications in the construction of the plaque. E.g. the original text, which should be on the plaque, was with 200 words, clearly too long.

Since 2016/17, there is also a high school in Potsdam-West which bears the name of Hannah Arendt.
