Historical group photo of a deputation (delegation) of the "Nördlinger Privilegierte Schützengesellschaft of 1399", probably from a Bundesschießen or Ähnlichem. There must have been a big parade for it (the Bundesschießen took place every three years). In the middle under the flag is Abraham Weiler, who was from 1899 1st Schützenmeister, so chairman of the Schützengesellschaft.
Abraham Weiler, born on June 13, 1852 in Fischach, - died on January 9, 1908 in Augsburg in the Deaconess Hospital, was married to Regina (Rachel) born Bier, born on September 5, 1851 in Hainsfarth, - died on November 17, 1914 in München. The couple had 14 children. The life and influence of Abraham Weiler is closely linked with the Jewish Community of Nördlingen. With the founding of the Jewish Community of Nördlingen, the magazine "Israelit" of April 13, 1870, was looking for a religious teacher, cantor, and assistant schoolmaster. Abraham Weiler got the advertised position and remained the religious teacher and cantor of the community for 37 years. On January 9, 1908, he died after an operation in the Deaconess Hospital in Augsburg. -- to picture 3 and 4: This is a card to the teacher Abraham Weiler and his wife in Nördlingen, mailed on March 9, 1900 from Pomorzani, a district of Stettin. The sender of the card was his eldest daughter Jerda (born June 17, 1874 in Nördlingen). The last greeting lines are signed by Ludwig, either Jerda's husband (Ludwig Margulies from Vienna) or Jerda's younger brother (Ludwig, b. 3. April 1887 in Nördlingen). In addition to the postmark, the card also bears two Nördlingen postal arrival stamps of March 11, 1900 afternoon and March 12, 1900 morning.
