Kurt Clavier was an interior designer, owner of an art furniture factory and workshops for the complete interior design. In a directory of the Hamburg furniture and home furnishings industry from 1927, the following entry can be found - Kurt Klavier, Kunstmöbelfabrik, Werkstätten für den gesamten Innenausbau, Ferdinandstr. 29/33. In a similar directory from 1932, the plastic furniture factory can no longer be found and the address given is "Harvestehuder Wed 11". Kurt Clavier took over the villa built in 1872 at Harvestehuder Weg 11 from S. Löwenstein. In 1938 Kurt Clavier tried to sell his villa to the Egyptian consulate. However, he was denied the permission he needed for this. The building was placed under trusteeship to the Hamburg Property Administration, which sold it to the City of Hamburg in 1939 at a significantly reduced price. Kurt Clavier still managed to emigrate to South Africa.
