On July 29, 1862, Wolf Manasse Wolf, who was born in Bieringen an der Jagst, was issued a certificate by the city of Heilbronn to legitimize his announcement submitted to the city council in Heilbronn that he wanted to operate a rag and country products business on his own account. As early as 1864, Wolf Manasse Wolf purchased a plot of land at Paulinenstraße 21 and built a residential and commercial building on it. The business was very successful, so that in 1871 and 1876 two adjoining buildings were newly equipped for the business. In 1900, a warehouse was added to a fourth building. After the business continued to expand, a new building was erected in the industrial area at Salzstraße 30 in 1906. After the death of the company founder W. M. Wolf on July 7, 1916 in Heilbronn, the sons Julius and Hermann Wolf took over the company and transformed it into a family stock corporation.
But Wolf Manasse (Magnus) Wolf also made a name for himself through his tireless and extremely dedicated work for the common good of the city. Almost 40 years of activity as a member of the citizens' committee ( chairman and deputy mayor) testify to this. He founded the "Association Lower Town" and was its chairman for decades and fought doggedly for the creation of the municipal theater in this district. He also had no hesitation in collecting money for a bell for the Catholic Church. In the years 1882 - 1899 W. M. Wolf was in the Israelitische Kirchengemeinderat.
