"Moko" trade store for mechanical toys (M. Kohnstam & Co.)

On January 3, 1865, the company "M. Kohnstam" is entered in the company register of the Fürth District Court. The owner of the company is Moses Kohnstam, a merchant in Fürth. In 1884 the merchants Moritz Böhm and Karl Redelsheimer of Fürth are granted Collektivprocura. In 1892, Willy Kohnstam was authorized to sign for the company together with one of the other authorized signatories. In 1898, the company building at Nürnberger Strasse 56/58 was completed. In 1900, the company was transformed into the general partnership "M. Kohnstam & Co. The company headquarters remained in Fürth. A branch office was established in London. The partners are now Moses and Willy Kohnstam, merchants in Fürth, and Julius Kohnstam of London. At the end of 1905, Moses Kohnstam left the company as a partner. In 1911, Emil Kohnstam, a merchant in Fürth, joined the company as a further partner. In 1922 Julius Kohnstam left the company as a partner. In 1933/34, the five Kohnstam brothers cease operations and flee Germany.
