Anna Cohn was born in Königsberg on March 31, 1882, the daughter of Fritz Cohn and his wife Doris, née Vertun. She married the textile merchant Hugo Witt, who also called himself Jakob. Their sons were born: Hans and Ernst Alfred. Since 1931 the family lived in Landshuter Straße 38 in the front building, third floor. Hugo (Jakob) Witt died on July 8, 1925, and in 1931 their son Ernst Alfred moved to Rotterdam, presumably for professional reasons. Hans emigrated to Palestine. Anna Witt fled to the Netherlands to Gouda in 1939. On October 30, 1942, she was arrested and deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp via the Westerbork collection camp on November 2, 1942. There she was murdered immediately after her arrival on November 5, 1942.
