Helene Henia Riesel was born in Stanislaw on July 1, 1884, the daughter of Rebecca Regine Riesel and Moritz Lichtenholz; her sister was named Clara. Helene Henia Riesel married the merchant Adolf Abraham Weinstock and moved with him to Berlin in 1909. Their children were born: David ( May 25, 1911), Erich ( March 29, 1913), Elli ( November 23, 1915) and Max ( September 6, 1917 ). Her husband Adolf Abraham dealt in furniture. From 1922 Helene Henia Weinstock took over the furniture business, now at 35 Winterfeldstrasse, where the family lived in a 3 ½ room apartment. In the 1930s, the family became stateless. Adolf Abraham and Helene Henia Weinstock were deported to Czechoslovakia in 1934, traveling on to Lemberg and Wloclavic (then Leslau on the Vistula) via Prague. On April 8, 1941, they wrote a letter from the Leslau ghetto to their son David in Buenos Aires, saying that Adolf Abraham Weinstock was working as a secretary at the Jewish Community without pay. This letter was the last sign of life of Adolf Abraham and Helene Henia Weinstock.
