Stockel, Susanna Rebeka

Susanna Rebeka Stöckel was born in Berlin on August 29, 1897 (the year of birth on the stone is incorrect) to her Jewish parents, master builder Moritz Stöckel and his wife Gertrud, née Landsberg. Her sisters were Caecilie, born on March 4, 1896, and Margarete, born on July 30, 1900. Her father Moritz had already died in 1910, and Susanna and her sisters attended the Stern Conservatory. Caecilie and Margarete married, Susanna remained single and lived with her mother. In 1936 she moved with her mother and her sister Margarete's family first to Jenaerstrasse 6, then to Stübbenstrasse 1. From there she was deported to Theresienstadt together with her mother on the 36th Old Age Transport.
