Association for Jewish History Gailingen e.V.
In September 1657 the rulers issued for the first time a letter of protection to the six Jews*Jewesses who had settled in Gailingen around 1654. In 1722, 18 Jewish households were already registered. At the peak of its demographic development, the Jewish share of the population in the village was just over half. In 1933 there were just 314 Jewish Gailinger*innen (20%). From 1870-1884 Gailingen had a Jewish mayor, Hirsch Leopold Guggenheim. From 1827 to 1925 Gailingen was the seat of a district rabbi.
Masorti e.V. - Association for the Promotion of Jewish Education and Jewish Life
In 2002, Masorti e.V., was founded by Rabbi Geser Ederberg, in Belin to promote Jewish life and Jewish education. The association offers many projects, including kindergarten centers, an elementary school and a college. More information can be found on the Masorti e.V. website.
.TuS Maccabi Berlin e.V.
TuS Makkabi Berlin e.V. is a German-Jewish sports club with the goal of encouraging both Jewish and non-Jewish people to engage in dialogue and bring them together.
During National Socialism' the club like all organizations at that time was forbidden to participate in official competitions. Since the reestablishment of the association TuS Makkabi Berlin in 1970, the club again regularly participates in competitions and offers space for quite a few sports such as basketball, soccer or even chess.
Association for the Promotion of Jewish Culture in Tübingen e.V.
The Förderverein für jüdische Kultur in Tübingen e.V. sees as its primary goal to promote Jewish culture in the university city of Tübingen. It should be especially important to find a balance between Jewish culture today and the memory of a former Jewish life in the city. In order to re-establish Jewish culture in Tübingen, efforts are currently being made to highlight the remains of the former synagogue in Gartenstraße.
JSUD - Jewish Student Union Germany
Jewish students and young Jewish adults in Germany have once again had official political representation since December 8, 2016. During the Community Day of the Central Council of Jews in Germany in Berlin, representatives of Jewish student initiatives founded the new national student union JSUD.
