Bank House Family Abraham Sonneberg

The bank was founded in 1846, was then located at Salzgasse 850, later at Marktplatz 8, and belonged to Abraham Sonneberg and his son-in-law Max Hochstädter. The latter is described as always benevolent. Unusually, his wife, Anna Hochstädter, was granted procuration. When Max Hochstädters died in 1903, the bank had to be abandoned due to the lack of a successor.

The banking house is founded before 1837, can be found at that time at Paradeplatz 860 (today: Freiheitsplatz) and belongs to Nathan Sondheimer, son of an important rabbi. He pursues, similar to his father, only part-time, intensive studies of Judaism and is considered a benefactor in Hanau. With Nathan Sondheimer's death in 1862, the bank is probably abandoned. Son Moses Tobia is co-founder of a metal company in 1872.

Arthur Lebrecht was born in Nuremberg on March 11, 1882. He studied law in Munich and Erlangen. His state examination for Dr. jur. in 1908 in Erlangen. His admission to the bar for Nuremberg covered the period 1909 - 30.11.1938. On 29.11.1942 his deportation to the Baltic  -  Riga-Jungfernhof . The time and place of his death is not known.

Dr. Emil Epstein accepted in 1921 on behalf of the Augsburg Jewish Community in his capacity as 1st chairman the two war memorial plaques with the names of the 24 members of the Jewish Community who died in the World War. These were inaugurated on Sunday, November 3, 1921 in the synagogue. In addition to the names of the fallen, the plaques bear the inscription "The community to its fallen. They also died for us. 1914-1918. "

Julius Berolzheimer was the son of Daniel and Friederike Berolzheimer and was born in Fürth on June 13, 1835. He was a brother of Heinrich Berolzheimer. He was a law clerk in Bamberg, royal advocate, lawyer and judicial councilor in Fürth. He died on August 24, 1895. Julius Berolzheimer was married to Cerline Adlerstein from Bamberg. Their common son Dr. jur. Fritz Berolzheimer also became a lawyer in Fürth.
