Dr. Emil Epstein accepted in 1921 on behalf of the Augsburg Jewish Community in his capacity as 1st chairman the two war memorial plaques with the names of the 24 members of the Jewish Community who died in the World War. These were inaugurated on Sunday, November 3, 1921 in the synagogue. In addition to the names of the fallen, the plaques bear the inscription "The community to its fallen. Julius Berolzheimer was the son of Daniel and Friederike Berolzheimer and was born in Fürth on June 13, 1835. He was a brother of Heinrich Berolzheimer. He was a law clerk in Bamberg, royal advocate, lawyer and judicial councilor in Fürth. He died on August 24, 1895. Julius Berolzheimer was married to Cerline Adlerstein from Bamberg. Their common son Dr. jur. Fritz Berolzheimer also became a lawyer in Fürth.

Ludwig Salinger, a lawyer and notary public, was born in Berlin on July 29, 1854. He was the son of the wealthy father Gottfried Salinger and mother Sophie Salinger. In 1878 he finished his law studies. Just four years later he worked as an assessor at a court in Berlin to gain professional experience.

On April 30, 1883, he married his Jewish wife Clara Meyer, daughter of the university professor Prof. Dr. med. Joseph Meyer. In the course of their marriage, the Jewish couple had three children.
