Michael Daniel "Denny" Meyer was born in Cologne on August 30, 1938, the son of the architect Ulrich Meyer and his wife Annemarie, née Krebs. His parents moved with him into the apartment of his grandmother Margarete Meyer at Bamberger Straße 37 in Schöneberg. Before the family's deportation, his parents also had to fill out the declaration of assets for four-year-old Denny. On December 9, 1942, Denny was deported with his parents and grandmother to Auschwitz, where he was presumably murdered immediately.
