Suse Wittenberg was born in Berlin on May 7, 1924, the third child of her father Sally David Wittenberg and his wife Margarete, née Goldstrom (see also Margarete Wittenberg). Suse Wittenberg was able to emigrate to Palestine in 1939 with the help of the Jewish sports club Maccabi. She lived in Jerusalem and trained in agriculture. When she was 18, she moved to Kibbutz Givat Brenner, where she met her brother Ernst again. When she was 20, she moved to Tel Aviv and met Ber Frydman, whom she later married. Their children are Margalit and Rachel.
