On July 9, 1905, the first Jewish old people's home in Unna was inaugurated. It was located at Mühlenstraße 7. A prayer room was set up for the elderly people living there. In the post-war period, the Catholic parish of St. Katharina acquired the building from the Jewish Trust Corporation. Today it is the Boniface Catholic Home for the Aged. After a new Jewish community was established in late 1990 / early 2000, the prayer room temporarily served as the synagogue of the new Jewish community.
