In the 19th century, the congregation's services were initially held in rented rooms. In 1870, the congregation purchased a house in Stubenstraße and converted it into a synagogue. Master builder Fütterer initially planned a representative appearance for the front façade. However, since no subsidies came from the government, the plan could not be executed. The synagogue was built in 1872/73 and consecrated on September 10, 1873.
During the November pogrom in 1938, the synagogue was desecrated by Nazis. It was also to be set on fire. However, the fire was quickly extinguished in order not to endanger the houses of non-Jewish owners standing in the neighborhood.
After 1945, the building was used as a residential house. A memorial plaque with the following inscription was placed on November 9, 1988: "Former synagogue. Consecrated on 10.9.1837. Desecrated on 9.11.1938. Honoring the memory of the citizens of Jewish faith expelled and murdered by fascism."
At the beginning of September 2011, the building was surprisingly demolished.
