Synagogue (Gleicherwiesen)

Initially, there was probably a prayer room in one of the Jewish houses. 
  
In 1787 a synagogue could be built. It was the center of Jewish life in the village for a good 150 years.    

During the November pogrom in 1938, the synagogue was attacked by an SS commando from Hildburghausen. The furniture was devastated, the objects of worship destroyed. In 1943, the demolished synagogue was demolished because of alleged "dilapidation."
