Hauptstraße 131
99752 Bleicherode
Germany
First there was a prayer room in each case (already in the 16th century, then again in the 18th century).
From 1725 to 1882 the prayer hall was in a house, which was built in 1665 as a so-called Ackerbürgerhof and from 1790/91 belonged to the Countess of Hagen ("Old Chancellery"). The prayer hall and the Jewish school were in two rooms on the west side of the upper floor. Access was via a wooden external staircase on the north side of the building (bricked-up doorway can still be seen today). This building is preserved; In the 1990s, the building was re-roofed; 2006 was a comprehensive renovation through the commitment of the non-profit Fördervereins Alte Kanzlei e.V. In the building is now an exhibition / documentation on Jewish history in Bleicherode (50 picture plates á 50/100 cm).
