At first there was probably a prayer room in one of the Jewish houses.
In 1760 a first synagogue could be built. In the middle of the 19th century, the building was too small for the congregation. In 1860, a new synagogue was created on the foundation walls of the old synagogue as its conversion and extension.
In 1935 the - according to Arnsberg p. 443 already around 1900 in a poor structural condition - building was sold by the last community leader to a non-Jewish family. This family had also acquired the adjacent corner house. The cult objects were brought to Frankfurt, where they were destroyed during the November pogrom in 1938. As long as it was possible, after the sale of the synagogue in the house of the last community chairman prayer hours were held.
.In the 1960s, the former synagogue was demolished because the owner wanted to expand his apartment building. On the site of the former synagogue garages were created, above a living room with roof terrace to the attached residential house.
