Until around 1830, services were held in a private house. In 1831 the upper floor of this house in Kirchenstraße was converted into a synagogue room. On the first floor the teacher/preacher had his apartment. For over 100 years the synagogue was the center of the Conservative-Orthodox Jewish community life in Strümpfelbrunn. Until after 1933, customs and liturgical traditions were maintained here that had already become a thing of the past in many communities. This was ensured until after 1933 by the long-time community leader Götz Israel.

In 1931, the 100th anniversary of the synagogue could be celebrated. At that time the synagogue was again thoroughly renovated. During November pogrom in 1938 the synagogue was demolished by SA people. The building was cleared out and the cult equipment, including a particularly old and valuable Torah curtain from the Jewish community of Hirschhorn, the prayer lecterns and the Torah scrolls were burned on a meadow. Two Jewish men were forced to take the Torah scrolls to the meadow. A velvet blanket from the lectern of the prayer leader was hung on a pole from a window of the synagogue. After the devastation, a group of SA men went through the village blowing on the shofar stolen from the synagogue. Some time later, the synagogue was bought by a neighbor for about 1,100 RM and the property was later used as a garden.
