New Synagogue Hindenburgstraße (Mainz)

The New Synagogue Mainz is the successor building to the former main synagogue of the state capital, which was destroyed after the November pogrom in 1938. It was opened on September 3, 2010, and is the community center of the Jewish community of Mainz.

The modern building represents the embodied representation of the concept of Kedushah (Eng: blessing for sanctification/exaltation). It includes a banquet hall, mikvah, kosher kitchen, club room, kindergarten, school room, social services, community offices, library, meeting room, and apartments. The community offers a lively cultural program here, which is also open to non-Jews.
