The Jewish Cemetery Freiburg im Breisgau is a Jewish cemetery in the city of Freiburg im Breisgau (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). It is a protected cultural monument.
The 1863 newly founded community could 1870 establish a cemetery at the corner of Elsässer Straße / Rosbaumweg (area 82.61 a). 1891 was established in this cemetery a temporary assembly hall which was replaced before 1914 by the construction of a new cemetery hall. This was destroyed in 1938.
In 1949 to 1952 a new cemetery hall was built. In the cemetery, which is used until the present, there is also a memorial to the members of the Jewish community of Freiburg who died in the First World War and since 1986 a memorial "To the Jewish victims of tyranny 1933-45" (1991 supplemented by a fountain).
A medieval cemetery could not be proven in Freiburg so far, possibly a cemetery in the surrounding area was also used (possibly in Breisach or Waldkirch, but compare the field name "Judenfriedhof" Freiburg-Hochdorf).
