Jewish cemetery (Esens)

The Jewish cemetery Esens is located outside the historic center of Esens on the Mühlenweg. It is open to the public. The cemetery has not been used since the demise of the associated community at the time of National Socialism. The local Nazis desecrated the cemetery either in November 1938 or in 1940, completely destroying the site.[1] All that remained were the fragments of thirteen gravestones, which have since been reinstalled on the site.
