In 1804, compulsory schooling for Jewish children was introduced in Bavaria. The Jewish edict issued in 1813 allowed Jewish communities to set up their own schools, but only if they bore the costs themselves. From the report of the school records of the Catholic school in Maßbach dated March 17, 1818 "In the name of His Majesty the King the following was decreed:

1. the Jewish community has to pay a „deposit“.
2. the Jewish children of compulsory school age are to be incorporated into the existing Catholic school in M&Slig;b.
3. for the teacher's salary, school fees of 1 fl 36 x are to be paid by each Jewish schoolchild.
4. The Jewish families of the community all have to pay the school fees together with the other members of the school community.

In the registry office records of the Protestant pastor, for the isr.  parish, at the beginning of the register of births part II.  :  „ On June 22, 1818, the isr. children there attended the catholic school for the first time“.
The  school records of the catholic/isr. school Maßbach from  Aug. 12  1819  report among other things, that: of the 73 weekday pupils, 25 are Israelites.
The Sunday school is attended by 9 boys and 6 girls, 11 of whom are Israelites who also take private lessons.
The industrial school is attended by 47 boys and 59 girls, including 59 Protestant and 11 Israelite children.
In the current school year, a Jewish house was rented and furnished as a school. There are no books for the children.
