This Saturday (25 Kislev, 22 December), the Jewish festival of lights begins. For eight days, Jews light a new candle of the eight-branched hanukkiah every evening in memory of the miracle of the rededication of the Second Temple.
Looking for a place to celebrate? On the Jewish Places map, you can find out where. Join the Hanukkah celebration at the Fraenkelufer Synagogue or at the Jewish Museum Berlin. Or visit Bleibergs, a kosher restaurant, for some sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) or latkes, both traditionally eaten on the holiday. And at the Jewish bookstore Literaturhandlung, you can buy Hanukkah cards, a Hanukkiah, and Hanukkah candles. With a little bit of luck, you might also find a dreidel, the four-sided top children love to spin.

Maybe you know of Jewish Places where Hanukkah is celebrated? We’re looking forward to your Hanukkah entries!
