The new Jewish cemetery was inaugurated in 1877.
You leave the city in a northerly direction ütte via Magdeburger Stra;e (old B 180, signpost to „Oberhütte“). On the outskirts of the town you pass the general cemetery on the left, in the northern corner of which is the new Jewish cemetery, established in 1877. Immediately after the cemetery on the left is the entrance to the allotment garden colony „Bergmannsruh“. From there a locked gate leads to the Jewish cemetery.
Through the gate two memorial stones can be seen, one in the entrance area, another one in the rear third of the area. Behind the second memorial stone there are about 35 gravestones from the 19th/20th century.
The cemetery was used during the war as a burial place for about 40 Polish forced laborers, one of the two memorial stones should commemorate them.
The cemetery seems to be unkempt.
