Jewish cemetery Heidestraße (Hohenlimburg)

The Old Jewish Cemetery was probably already in use in the 18th century. It was around 2300 m in size and was recorded as the cemetery of the Limburg Jewish community on Heidestraße on the slope of the Mühlenberg in the Elsey community, which was independent until 1902. The cemetery was closed in 1903, but gravestones could still be found there around 1930. In the second half of the 20th century, the site was used as a sports field, among other things, and gravestones found during construction work were moved to the new burial ground.
