In Ottersdorferstraße 1 (formerly Hildastraße 1) was the inn of Löw Simson Altschul. Altschul was about 45 years old in 1812 when he married Rösle from Muggensturm, the widow of David Guggenheimer. He himself came from Ingenheim in the Palatinate. Eight children lived in Altschul's household, including two daughters from his first marriage.

The inn was called "Rössel" until its demolition; in 1803 its address was "Schwabengasse, Haus=Nro. 104. Löw Simson, Judenwirth."  Löw Simson Altschul dies  at the age of 83 on December 29, 1848. His youngest son Josef (*1812) had already taken over the Judenwirtschaft in 1839 and renamed it "Goldenes Roß" with a permit. In 1858 the restaurant is mentioned in the address book, but "Rößlewirth". The inn was kept kosher and many Jews from out of town stayed overnight in the inn. It is probable that there had already been a private prayer room in the house during the time of Löw Simson Altschul.

Altschul sold the inn in 1862 to "master baker Bernhard Fleischer of Mühlbach, Amt Eppingen."
