Sarresdorfer Straße 33
54568 Gerolstein
Germany
The cemetery is located west of the town center, within the municipal cemetery Sarresdorfer Straße (= B 410), not far from the church of the Redeemer
.The Jewish burial ground is located near the side entrance to the cemetery from the street "Am Auberg". Only a hedge separates the 15 gravesites (8 single and 5 double graves) from the rest of the cemetery. When in 1894 Jewish citizens of Gerolstein acquired this land for a cemetery, it was still separated from the neighboring Sarresdorf churchyard. Only by its rededication to the municipal cemetery this grew so far that he now surrounds the Jewish cemetery on all sides.
.The last burial took place here in December 1940. Two of the double graves are occupied by only one person each, the wives who were to find their final resting places here were deported.
Condition of preservation: Just like the neighboring parts of the general cemetery: little maintained.
