Jewish cemetery (Fußgönheim)

The Jewish cemetery in Fußgönheim, a local community in the Rhine-Palatinate district in Rhineland-Palatinate, was established in 1821. The Jewish cemetery is located at the junction of Ellerstadter Straße and Bahnhofstraße. It is a protected cultural monument.

The Jewish women*Jews of  Ruchheim, Mutterstadt (until 1889) and Schauernheim were also buried in the cemetery. The gravestones of the Jewish cemetery of Heuchelheim,dating from the 18th century,were brought to Fußgönheim in 1939, as the National Socialists had ordered the clearing of the cemetery there.

The cemetery was devastated during the National Socialist era.

There are still 150 gravestones preserved in the 1626 m² cemetery today.
