The merchant and later factory owner Arthur Michaelis, born on 28.09.1859 in Königsberg married on 16.02.1888 in Munich Frieda Michaelis, née Obermeyer (also: Obermaier), daughter of the Munich merchant Hirsch Obermeyer and Sophie Obermeyer, née Marx. The couple had 3 daughters - Theodora, born on 10.10.1890, Elsa, born on 16.01.1892 and Erna, born on 30.11.1896. Arthur Michaelis was the founder of the machine factory A. Michaelis KG, which specialized in the manufacture of laundry and plating machines. His wife Frieda Michaelis was a partner in the machine factory.

The spinning and weaving Bach & Bloch was founded in Mülhausen (Mulhouse) in Alsace. Helmuth Bloch (born 1893 in Mülhausen) was one of the owners of the textile wholesale " Bach & Bloch ". After the 1st World War, the company was reopened in Augsburg by the sons of the company founders. Other partners were Edmund and Ralph Bach.Helmuth Bloch lived with his family in Augsburg in the Frölichstra;e 14. 1936 Helmuth Bloch emigrated with his family to the USA.

In 1932, the brothers Alexander, Alfred and Max Berglas founded the Berglas Mechanische Webereien AG in Berlin. In 1934, the company moved to Papiermühlenweg 14 in Greiz and Alexander Berglas became the managing director (still residing in Berlin). In addition to the Papiermühlenweg 14 property, the Berglas brothers also owned the Papiermühlenweg 16 (18a before 1934) and 20 properties. In 1938, Alexander Berglas was recalled and the Greizer Kammgarn weaving mill was deleted from the commercial register.

Engelhardt Brewery
The small brewery was developed into a brewing empire by the Jewish businessman Ignatz Nacher. Ignatz Nacher was born in 1868 in Österreich-Schlesien and came to Engelhardt in 1901, became a partner, übernnahmte the then still small brewery.
