Pharmacy Günther Friedländer
From 1930-1933, Günther Friedländer ran the Kronen pharmacy on Bismarckstrasse in Görlitz. Born in Königshütte, Silesia, he had lived in Görlitz for three years. The family-run business – Friedländer had taken over the pharmacy from his aunt – ended in 1933 jäh with the boycotts against Jüdische Händler. Friedl sold the pharmacy and turned his back on Germany. In Israel, he founded the pharmaceutical company Teva, which later became the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in Israel.

Nacher family
In the second half of the 19th century, the Nacher family ran a small store in Iskrzyczyn. The son of the store owner Ignatz (Ignacy) Nacher (1868-1939) made a career in Berlin. He became general director of Engelhardt brewery, which thanks to him became the second largest brewery in Germany.
When Nacher received information üabout a fire in 1910, he sent 1000 marks to the municipality. In a letter to the municipality he wrote that among the victims möght be people with whom the Nachers had contact when they ran the small store in Iskrzyczyn.
