City Hall Monheim

Complete profile
60

Jews lived in Monheim from 1697 to 1741. Still preserved is the residence of the wealthy Jew Abraham Elias Model, which was built from 1714 to 1720. Today, this building is used as the town hall of the city of Monheim.

The current meeting room decorates a stucco ceiling with motifs from the Hebrew Bible, which was exposed in 1978 during a restoration. Traces of Jewish life were also uncovered in two other rooms in 1994.
