Max Schwersenz was born into a Jewish family in Wronke/Posen on April 22, 1911. He married Traute Mendel and lived with her, their son Denny and his mother-in-law in the garden house at Belziger Straße 37 from 1937. His mother-in-law Ella Elsbeth Mendel emigrated to the USA in 1941. From October 1941, Max Schwersenz had to perform forced labor at the Papendick & Co. company in Kreuzberg. On February 3, 1943, Max Schwersenz was deported to Auschwitz with his wife and son.
