Herbert Reinert was born in Berlin on February 5, 1906, became a machinist and lived in Tempelhof, Friedrich-Karl-Strasse 5. From 1936, he worked as a technical auditor at Daimler-Benz AG in Marienfelde and belonged to a company resistance group. As a member of the workers' sports club "Fichte," he was an early opponent of National Socialism. On July 16, 1943, he was arrested and sentenced to death along with five other members of the "Kampfbund" in a Kammergericht trial of Daimler-Benz AG employees. The death sentence was carried out on September 22, 1944 in the Plötzensee penitentiary.
