Margarete Dombrower was born on June 22, 1904 in Exin/Posen into a Jewish family. She was a nurse and married the non-Jewish music director Franz Graetz. In 1931 she lived with him at Gotzkowskystrasse 11. In 1939 she lived as a subtenant at Gothaerstraße 4, later moving to Belziger Strasse 39 to live with Richard London. For unknown reasons, she divorced her husband. She is said to have been arrested during the factory action in February 1943,
