Jewish Places makes it possible to search for content in an organized way. A search combining full-text search with filters allows you to narrow down the information you are searching for and examine all the results on the list one by one. You can also view all your search results at once on the interactive map. By zooming in or out, you can delve into more detailed regional information or get a broad overview of all mapped results.

The map shows addresses of Jewish sites. This allows you to see exactly where a relative lived or went to school. However, Jewish Places is not a genealogical database. Other websites give you the opportunity to research your family history and search for documents. Examples include JewishGen and Ancestry.
