Last residential address of Erika Neugarten

Erika Neugarten was not a nurse, but belonged to the staff of the Rothschild Hospital and the Jewish Hospital in Frankfurt am Main. She was born on June 29, 1914 as the illegitimate daughter of Jewish domestic worker Emma Neugarten in Hanover (Lower Saxony).
Since August 2, 1937, she lived in Frankfurt am Main, where she worked as a domestic worker. She belonged to the Jewish religious association and completed a four-month apprenticeship as an ironer at Rothschild'schen Hospital from 1938 to 1939.

From spring 1939 to July 1940, she worked as an ironer at Frankfurt's Jewish Hospital. It is not known why she moved there from Rothschild's Hospital. After July 1940, she worked as a domestic help for a Jewish family at Melemstraße 14. From November 1940, she had to do forced labor at the Glanzstoffwerke in Kelsterbach.

Before her arrest and deportation, her last home address was an attic room at Kantstraße 6. Erika Neugarten was murdered in Auschwitz on October 7, 1942. She was 28 years old.
