At the top of the synagogue's façade is written in Hebrew a saying of the prophet Haggai that aptly sums up the history of Jewish centers of faith in Luxembourg: "The glory of this new house shall be greater than that of the first, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will give peace in this place, saith the LORD of hosts." (Haggai 2:9).
