Beschreibung
On June 24, 2001, a memorial to the city of Leipzig was inaugurated on the site. It was designed by the Leipzig architects Anna Dilengite and Sebastian Helm. The surrounding wall marks the former ground plan of the Great Community Synagogue, 140 bronze chairs - representing the approximately 14,000 Leipzig victims - the position of the central nave inside.
