Beschreibung
The "Bauermeisterplatz" was named in 1921 after Theodor Bauermeister (1834-1904), the first director of the "Höhere Bürgerschule". Bauermeister's motto "SALUS SCHOLAE SALUS CIVITATIS" ("The good of the school for the good of the citizenry") is still emblazoned above the entrance portal today.
